Building Envelope Thermal Inspections | West Palm Beach & South Florida

What You Can't See Is Costing You Money

The building envelope, your walls, windows, doors, roof transitions, and all the connections between them, is your property’s first line of defense against Florida’s heat, humidity, and severe weather. When the envelope fails, air leaks in, moisture follows, energy is wasted, and interior comfort suffers. In most cases, these failures are completely invisible without infrared imaging.

Delta Infrared Solutions has been performing building envelope thermal inspections across South Florida for more than 15 years. Our certified thermographers identify where your building is losing conditioned air, where moisture is entering, where insulation is missing or compromised, and where your HVAC systems are working harder than they should, all with non-invasive infrared technology.

What Building Envelope Failures Look Like in Florida

Florida’s climate is uniquely hard on building envelopes. High exterior temperatures, persistent humidity, seasonal storms, and intense solar exposure work on a building’s exterior systems every day. Common envelope failures we identify include:

The Regulatory and Code Connection

Building envelope performance is not just an operational issue, it has regulatory dimensions:
For buildings undergoing energy audits, LEED certification reviews, or insurance inspections, a documented building envelope thermal inspection provides objective evidence of current conditions.

How the Inspection Works

Building envelope inspections are most effective when there is a meaningful temperature differential between the interior and exterior of the building, ideally 18°F or greater. In Florida, this typically means inspecting during cooler months or during early morning hours when interior cooling has created a sufficient differential. We assess conditions before scheduling to ensure the inspection will yield meaningful results. Our thermographers systematically scan exterior and interior surfaces, document thermal anomalies with infrared and visible-light photography, and map findings to specific building locations so your contractor or engineer knows exactly where to focus.
